PRODUCT CARE PHILOSOPHY
PRIVIO is built on a foundation of considered design, controlled silhouettes, and long-term wearability. Each product is developed with an emphasis on structure, fabric integrity, and consistency over time. Product care is not secondary, it is essential.
How a garment is washed, dried, stored, and maintained directly impacts how it holds its shape, color, and overall character. When cared for correctly, PRIVIO pieces are designed to be worn repeatedly, maintaining their intended form and presence across seasons.
CARE LABEL
Each garment includes a care label with specific instructions tailored to its fabric and construction. These guidelines define the maximum safe conditions for washing and handling. Following them ensures the product retains its original quality, fit, and finish.
Always refer to the care label before washing.
WASHING AT LOWER TEMPERATURES
For most machine washable PRIVIO garments, washing at 30°C or lower is recommended.
Lower temperature washing preserves fabric structure, reduces color fading, minimizes shrinkage, extends overall garment lifespan.
Care labels may indicate higher temperatures, but these represent the upper limit, not the optimal condition. Where possible, choose lower temperatures to maintain the integrity of the product over time.
Guide to Product Care
COTTON
Cotton is a breathable natural fiber selected for its balance of comfort, durability, and everyday performance. At PRIVIO, cotton fabrics are chosen based on structure and weight ranging from lightweight jersey to heavier brushed constructions ensuring each product maintains its intended shape and feel over time.
THE COTTON T-SHIRT
Designed as a foundational essential, PRIVIO T-shirts are engineered for consistency in fit, weight, and finish. Machine wash at 30°C with similar colors. Turn inside out before washing to preserve fabric surface and printed or embroidered details. Avoid overloading the machine to maintain the garment’s structure. Do not tumble dry. Instead, hang dry naturally to prevent shrinkage and maintain the intended silhouette. If needed, iron on low to medium heat inside out. Avoid direct heat on prints or branding.
THE COTTON TROUSERS
PRIVIO cotton trousers are built with a focus on structure and durability, often using heavier weight fabrics for a defined silhouette. Wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Turn inside out to reduce surface wear and protect detailing. Avoid excessive washing to maintain fabric integrity. Air dry only. Do not tumble dry, as heat can distort shape and affect fit. If ironing is required, use medium heat and press from the inside to maintain a clean outer finish.
THE COTTON SWEATSHIRT
Constructed using mid to heavy-weight cotton, PRIVIO sweatshirts are designed to retain structure while offering comfort. Machine wash at 30°C, inside out. Wash with similar tones to avoid color transfer. Avoid tumble drying. Lay flat or hang dry to maintain the garment’s form and prevent stretching. If ironing is needed, use low heat and avoid direct contact with prints or embroidery.
THE COTTON HOODIE
Engineered for everyday wear, PRIVIO hoodies combine weight, structure, and durability. Wash at 30°C, inside out, on a gentle cycle. Close zips (if any) before washing to reduce abrasion. Air dry only. Hanging is preferred to maintain the drape, but avoid stretching the neckline when wet. Use low heat when ironing and avoid branded areas.
DENIM
Denim is defined by its durable twill construction and structured character. At PRIVIO, denim is selected not only for strength, but for how it holds shape, fades over time, and develops a unique wear pattern with use. Unlike lighter fabrics, denim is designed to be worn repeatedly before washing. Over washing reduces depth, fades color prematurely, and breaks down the fabric’s natural structure. Spot clean where needed and air out between wears to maintain longevity.
Wash denim infrequently only when necessary. When washing, turn the garment inside out and use a gentle cycle at 30°C or lower. This helps preserve color, surface texture, and overall finish. Use mild or specialist detergent where possible. Avoid tumble drying. Instead, hang dry naturally. The weight of the fabric will help release creases and maintain the garment’s intended form. Do not over-wring or twist the fabric, as this can distort shape over time.
Denim is designed to age, not wear out. Minor tears or clean rips can be repaired from the inside using a simple stitch technique, reinforcing the area without compromising the exterior appearance. Over time, pieces can be reworked cropped, adjusted, or repaired to extend their lifecycle while maintaining character.
FLEECE COTTON
Fleece and heavyweight cotton are selected for their density, structure, and ability to retain shape over time. At PRIVIO, these fabrics are engineered to provide warmth while maintaining a clean, controlled silhouette. Unlike lighter cotton, these materials are designed to hold form making correct care essential to preserve both fit and surface quality.
THE FLEECE HOODIE
Built with structured cotton and brushed fleece interiors, PRIVIO hoodies are designed for durability and consistent shape retention. Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Always turn the garment inside out to protect the outer surface and any branding or detailing. Avoid washing with rough fabrics to prevent abrasion and pilling. Do not tumble dry. Instead, hang dry naturally to maintain the garment’s structure and prevent shrinkage. Avoid pulling or stretching the fabric while wet. If ironing is required, use low heat and avoid direct contact with prints, embroidery, or branding elements.
THE HEAVYWEIGHT SWEATSHIRT
Designed with a focus on balance between comfort and structure, PRIVIO sweatshirts use dense cotton blends that maintain a defined silhouette. Wash at 30°C, inside out, with similar colors. Avoid excessive washing to preserve fabric integrity and color depth. Air dry only. Lay flat if needed to maintain shape, especially for heavier pieces. Use low heat when ironing and keep direct heat away from surface details.
FABRIC MAINTENANCE
Over time, fleece surfaces may develop slight pilling due to friction. This is natural in brushed cotton fabrics and can be managed using a fabric shaver to restore a clean finish. Avoid over-washing, as it reduces fabric density and affects the original structure.
